Lakshi is a storyteller and passionate theater practitioner, with a background in political science, having completed an honors degree in the field. Born and raised in Delhi, where her grandparents have been residing since the early 19th century, she has spent the last four years working with a diverse range of organizations. Her roles have primarily focused on facilitation and administration. Through her engagements, she has cultivated a unique blend of creative prowess and organizational acumen with a robust background in storytelling, project management, and a fervent commitment to social advocacy. She plays both vocal and instrumental music and has a strong interest in musical storytelling.
As a passionate learner and as a socially and politically active citizen, Lakshi seeks to gain hands-on experience through the Digital Swaraj Fellowship. Having had limited access to spaces for debate and discourse on socio-political issues in earlier education, they see this fellowship as a crucial opportunity to bridge that gap. By working in the rural digital landscape, they aim to deepen their understanding of digital rights and sustainable development, while honing skills in legislative research, strategic advocacy, and storytelling methods for impactful political campaigns.
The fellowship also represents a significant step in their personal journey, driven by a commitment to achieving financial independence and contributing to transformative social initiatives altogether. With a background marked by financial challenges, she is determined to leverage this experience for both personal and professional growth. Through this fellowship, they aspire to become a proactive agent of change in India’s digital and development sectors, contributing to a more inclusive and participatory digital ecosystem.
